Ralph Alpher, with George Gamow and Robert Herman, first proposed the Big Bang theory of the creation of the universe. Alpher and Herman's prediction that radiation from the Big Bang can still be observed today, later confirmed by observations, offers the strongest evidence that the Big Bang is correct.
