Tonight's feature presentation: "Apollo 13"

This 1995 movie starring Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, was directed by Ron Howard. It chronicles one of NASA’s most heroic moments, when in 1970, the Apollo 13 crew was forced to return home in a disabled capsule after an explosion seriously damaged the moon-bound mission. A “nail-biter” based on real-life events, Apollo 13 was one of the biggest box office hits of 1995 and has remained a viewing favorite, introducing into popular usage phrases like “Failure is not an option,” and “Houston, we’ve got a problem...”

Run Time: 140 minutes (Rated PG)

During the movie, the progression of the lunar eclipse will be projected onto a separate screen via a live feed, weather permitting.

Martian meteorite and Moon rock samples will be on display.

The movie will be screened in Lecture Center 24, near the Fountain at the center of the University at Albany uptown campus.

Free parking available in the State Quad Parking lot.
