Rising Star Internship Program Middle school and high school students are given telescopes, which they learn to use to show the wonders of the night sky at public star parties..

Albert Hessberg II Astronomy Campership Award, provides
opportunities for high school students in their sophomore or junior years to
participate in the Advanced Astronomy Camp at the University of Arizona,
Tucson. The Award honors the late Albert Hessberg II, Esq., longtime member
of the Board of Trustees.

Reflections: Stories of
Astronomy, Earth and Space:
Students interview people
affiliated with the Dudley Observatory to get a glimpse of the frustrations
and passions in the real lives of scientists, at the same time, preserving
the history of the Observatory.
Dudley Observatory Prize of the New York State Archives Student Research Awards The New York State Archives runs this annual event to encourage student research using historical records. The Dudley Observatory, which recently celebrated its 150th Anniversary, is offering additional prizes for research done in the Dudley Observatory Archives. guidelines and entry form
The Roy E. Anderson Media Award supports radio and television programs about astronomy, including the presentation of the Stardate radio program on station WAMC (90.3 FM) and the Star Gazer television program on WMHT.
Through the Charles P. Bean Fund, the Dudley Observatory supports activities in astronomy education including visits by thousands of children annually to the Schenectady Museum and Planetarium and the Henry Hudson Planetarium.

The Dudley Observatory contributes to the support of the Astronomical Society of New York (ASNY), and the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers (AAAA).

The Alfred University Summer Institute in Astronomy Award award supports attendance
of a high school student from the Capital District at the at the Summer
Institute in Astronomy at Alfred University. The Dudley Observatory will
pay registration fees, and room and board for the winning student for this
five-day program.
Through the Rita Spenser Space Campership Award, the Dudley Observatory provides opportunities for high school students in the Capital Region to gain exciting summer experiences involving astronomy and the space program by attending the U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama.
