ASTRONOMICAL CLOCKS High precision astronomical clocks owned by the observatory included an astronomical clock purchased in Altona, Germany, in 1856; a clock made in the mid-nineteenth century by Charles Fasoldt, an Albany, NY. clock maker, and two clocks made by Riefler in Germany and purchased after the Observatory's move to its second Albany site in 1893. |
