Greetings,
Thanks to the efforts of so many of you, we have made a tremendous amount of progress at Dudley!
Clear Skies,
Janie Schwab
Executive Director
The young adults gathered in my living room agreed that using the Starlab portable planetarium was the BEST part of their elementary school experience. We are now planning to hire a part-time outreach astronomy educator to bring this and other enticing astronomy programs to schools in the Capital Region. Interested?
We are looking for volunteers who have ideas and the drive and enthusiasm to implement them. We hope you will share your talents, while discovering new interests.

Please take a moment to reply to our short Volunteer Survey
A breakfast will be held at Dudley on Thursday, March 4 at 8am for those who would like to tour the observatory and get more information. RSVP 382-7583.
Lens Comes HomeThe photographic lens of Dudley's historic Brashear telescope is back home!
In fall 2007, the telescope's lenses were brought to their birthplace in Pittsburgh by Trudy Bell, Ron Barnell, Keith Swaney, and Janie Schwab.
Our hosts at L-3 Brashear cleaned them in the initial stage of the refurbishment of the telescope. The visual lens was brought back, and the photographic lens was loaned to be exhibited with the portrait of John Brashear in the lobby at L-3.
Many thanks to Andrew Clarkson, Mark Yingling, and Eileen Geary for their work on the lenses, and to Ian Ritchey for driving the photographic lens back from Pittsburgh!
